Meet Glynis
Art Therapist and Counselor
It’s a cliché, but it’s grounded in truth: There is so much more that unites us as humans than that which divides us. We all have a deep-rooted need for communal support. We all feel physically better when our minds are in good shape, and we all could benefit from a trusting therapeutic relationship.
I have a background in art and healing paired with whole body awareness through meditation. I taught children and teens and created curriculum for cooperative pre-school. I worked as a program developer in day programing to support elders. A am an artist at heart and earned a master's degree in Clinical Art Therapy & Counseling at Marylhurst University. I have been in private practice since 2019.
...But, art isn't for everyone. I provide Humanistic, strength-based counseling using DBT, Flash Technique, Compassionate Communication, Lifespan Integration, Motivational Interviewing, Sand Therapy, and Mindfulness Training. So, If you or your child are age 6 to 60, we can work together virtually or in-person in my creative office space in North East Portland, Oregon. A great way to step into healing if you're thinking of therapy is to take a workshop or participate in group therapy.
I’m thrilled that we get to explore strengths, find authentic self expression, and improve communication skills. With this foundation, folks can build calm, more confident relationships. I’m here not to teach you, but to learn with you, as we navigate life’s seasons. This is a safe space. Let’s throw all stigmas out the window as we work to increase wellness of mind, body, and spirit.
